I had a bit of apprehension coming into the Myrrh retreat at first. I’m not a “group” person, I enjoy intimate small groups with deeper conversations rather than light discussions with many women. What was surprising was the small group breakouts. I never thought switching groups and starting relationships with new ladies each time would be fruitful, but I was wrong. These groups are thoughtfully prayed over and divinely inspired! I got a word from a gal I had met at the last retreat that was life changing, and I loved each of the people I was paired with. I am not a game person but we had the best time in my icebreaker game group. This is the most amazing women’s retreat, the leadership is dynamic and I wasn’t even a retreat goer, but I am now. I have been twice to the Myrrh retreats and I look forward to the next one!

Why do I love MYRRH??? How much time do you have? This is a loaded question for me. My first retreat was in Georgia in 2014. I caravanned with a group of strange women, who despite how standoffish I was- pursued me. Each one deactivating walls I didn’t even know I had up, like: “I’m married, my husband is my best friend and female relationships are so complicated”,” If you really knew me, where I have been and what I have done- You wouldn’t like me.” Let me tell you in the presence of God almighty – anything is possible, like this house full of strangers becoming sisters. Year after year, with all the friendly faces returning, bringing daughters, moms and friends who need connection as bad as we all did, I found my tribe. My low maintenance, fiercefully loving sisters from all over the country, and as close as a facetime call. How many times in your adult life do you get to put on your PJ’s surrounded by great food and great company with no demands on you in a beautiful peaceful setting? No errands, no hubby, no kiddos- no responsibility! When I actually got it, I realized how much my identity was tied up in being so and so’s wife or mom. Here I just get to be a daughter of the King. Loved and accepted, truly known. The prophetic team does not just choose a handful – there are words for everyone and they are timely and life changing! The God of the universe, creator of everything the eye can see is waiting to connect with you- in the stillness. I attended my very first MYRRH Retreat in November of 2023, and I cannot even begin to truly explain just how awesome my experience was there. I went into the weekend only knowing one person there. It felt like I’d met everyone there already. I was treated like family from the very start, this spoke volumes. Ladies of all ages and walks of life, loving me like they’d known me forever. Myrrh retreats are the thing I look forward to every year! It’s a place that feels like home no matter where it’s held because the moment you walk in the door, you see women who have touched your soul and make you laugh ’til you cry. I have loved every part of each retreat but my very favorite has been watching women hear from the Lord in such a way, that its effects make endless ripples that touch so many. I always encourage women to come once so you can walk in for that second time and experience the best reunion ever! These retreats will leave you feeling so loved from every angle. I have to say that if you’re on the fence about going to a Myrrh retreat you need to just jump right in. I was encouraged to attend my first Myrrh retreat after sharing with my dearest friend the deep despair I was feeling and complete lack of Joy. She told me very little about what to expect- I told God “I just wanted to enjoy my home and family again.” So, I went and experienced God moment after God moment- I learned so many things about myself and how God’s love truly works. He reignited dreams I thought were forever gone, and even stirred fires in my heart I didn’t know I had. But not only did God change My perspective and My heart He gave me a purpose and desires that I never knew I could have. Could I get this somewhere else than a Myrrh retreat? I don’t think I could have. I was in such a safe space with such amazing women- I now belong to a sisterhood that stretches across so many states. I have safety and security with these women that I could have never imagined, but that’s how God works. He draws us in and brings things to life that we never thought possible. Margret and the Women of Myrrh truly pray over every woman who signs up to attend! When I returned home with all my precious promises and amazing new friends, I dove into God’s Word daily and before long I realized “I truly love my home and family again”- God Did Return My Joy!” I returned the next year with my daughter and we plan to attend as long as they will have us and bring someone new every chance we can. God is at Myrrh and if you jump off that fence, He will change your life for the better too.

I was thinking about why YOU should attend a Myrrh Retreat, there are so many reasons why. I love the intimacy of the small groups gathered together for a few days pressing in together with one goal of getting closer to Jesus. There is always an atmosphere set for those attending to draw closer to Him through great speakers and wonderful worship. You can even find Him in the moments of alone time that you get while on the retreat. I leave “different” after every retreat that I attend, always receiving something that gets me ready for the next season I go through. If those things are not enough, a bonus is the lifelong friendships you create with the other attendees. I highly encourage you to attend if you haven’t before. You won’t regret it!

Why MYRRH Ministries? I believe in their vision of bringing women and men together at a retreat to get away with God, to grow closer to Him. They bring joy out at the retreats to be able to grow in our relationship with each other as well. I come back to MYRRH retreats because every year my life is impacted for the kingdom. In 2023 I was going through a lot physically, spiritually and everything around me was falling apart. God healed my spirit and my family had a new beginning.
