MYRRH Ministries is the realization of a dream that God placed in Margret’s heart. We currently facilitate Women’s retreats and Men’s retreats as a place for people to get away with the Lord and a bunch of friends to grow in our relationships with God and others. In 2016, MYRRH Ministries officially became a nonprofit organization. With both women’s and men’s retreats off the ground and running, we realized that in order to keep our retreats cost effective, we would need to pursue “The Dream.” This is the combined dream of several board members, who have faithfully partnered with us for over 20 years. God’s dream has unfolded that we are to build a retreat center for MYRRH Ministries, and we are so excited to see this dream become a reality!
This is the vision we heard from the Lord and through prophetic words, dreams, and visions from several individuals:
We will be seeking to partner with college students that need practicum hours for their counseling degree. We would love to also partner with groups that need service project hours and have a heart to build.
Although we see these amenities as options to enhance the experience, our purpose is that those who come to the MYRRH Ministries Retreat Center will find a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ in the serenity of this tranquil environment.
With much prayer, we’re moving forward to the “Big Dream”!
We see this retreat center having a rotating yearly calendar to accommodate all the different aspects of ministry that God has put on our hearts. As far as the men’s and women’s retreats, we’ll carry on as we have been, seeking God on topics to cover and speakers to come in who have a timely message on the topic at hand. Of course, topics would also continue to promote spiritual growth in the relationships with God and with others.
For the marriage retreats, topics would include but not be limited to pre-marriage planning, marriages in crisis, vision planning, financial planning, parenting, and simple R&R with much needed time away.
Another huge thing on our hearts is having times to minister to those who are grieving. After the unexpected loss of our 21-year-old daughter, we knew that we want times throughout the year that the center is opened up for those who are grieving—a place to have space from the rest of the world’s demands and time to process in a peaceful setting. We realize that there are not many places that help with this area of ministry. This type of ministry for grief and disappointments of life needs to be offered!
We also see having a month each year that is set aside for pastors and clergy to spend time at the retreat center, sponsored by donations so they can come free of charge. We see it being a time that they can get away with their spouse or family, or simply alone to write, relax, or just enjoy nature. This would be a time that they are able to just be themselves and retreat away with God, to receive pampering and R&R time. We offer confidentiality to those staying at the retreat center.
We also plan to have three weeks throughout the year to do beautification projects as a ministry board along with having our board meetings. During these times, we will welcome volunteers to join in on the work and fun!
This peaceful and intimate retreat center would also be available throughout the year, when the schedule permits, for rental by other ministries and churches. We see Christmas parties, family reunions, church staff planning retreats, and more.
We at MYRRH Ministries have prayed about this vision that the Lord has planted in our hearts, and we believe that He is prompting us to move forward with beginning to look for the land. We are excited about this next season that he has for MYRRH Ministries!
Here’s where we need your help! We are a non-profit organization looking to partner with you! We wish to help other organizations by having a location in the Dallas/Fort Worth area where they are able to host their events at a reasonable cost. We cannot build “The Big Dream” without sponsors and donations from those who see this plan and want to get it off the ground. We expect this to be a multimillion-dollar endeavor, so we know that only God will be able to bring this dream to fruition, and it will take prayer support and financial support from people who He brings alongside us in this new part of our journey.
